Creative Labs Sound Blaster: supporto Windows 7 / Vista

Di seguito vengono riportati i driver Sound Blaster per Windows 7 e Windows Vista. Insieme ai driver ufficiali talora vengono proposti dei driver non ufficiali e modificati da Daniel_K, un noto utente del forum di Creative Labs. Tali driver modificati talora (re-)introducono funzioni e applicazioni presenti in Windows XP e mancanti nella versione ufficiale dei driver per l'ultima versione di Windows, talora risolvono dei problemi affliggenti la versione ufficiale, talora rimangono l'unica valida soluzione per gli ultimi sistemi operativi di casa Microsoft. In ogni caso la loro qualità  non è mai inferiore a quella dei driver ufficiali, ma uguale o superiore a seconda dei casi. Quale delle due versioni sia la migliore sta a voi provare e scegliere. Infine per le schede audio basate su chipset EMU10K1 viene proposta l'alternativa kX Project, un mod driver development per le vecchie schede EMU10K1.
Tutti i driver non ufficiali sono compatibili con l'ultimo Service Pack e provvisti di firma digitale, in modo da non creare problemi di installazione sule versioni a 64-bit. In caso si utilizzino i driver non ufficiali si consiglia la lettura del file "Readme" o del topic del forum appropriato.

AVVISO: il sottoscritto, nonché Creative Labs e gli autori dei driver modificati, non si prendono alcuna responsabilità riguardo l'uso dei driver non ufficiali o beta, usateli a vostro "rischio e pericolo".

IMPORTANTE:

• Ricordarsi di avere installate sempre l'ultima versione delle OpenAL (vd paragrafo dedicato);
• Per attivare le EAX o la semplice accelerazione hardware sui giochi DirectSound e DrectSound3D è necessario disporre di Creative ALchemy (vd paragrafo dedicato);
• Solo in caso di problemi relativi al corretto rilevamento e uso di altoparlanti surround o multicanale, disabilitare dall'avvio automatico il processo "CThelper.exe" (Start > digitare "msconfig.exe" > Avvio > OK, riavviare il sistema);
• Per impostare modalità  surround o multicanale utilizzare "Creative Audio Console" (Start > Tutti i programmi > Creative > Creative Audio Console) e non dal pannello di controllo audio di Windows;
  
  -Con alcuni driver può accadere che in seguito ad un riavvio di sistema l'audio venga reimpostato a 2.0/2.1 canali, in tal caso sarà necessario ripetere l'operazione soprastante;
  -In caso non si riesca ad impostare l'audio multicanale in alcun modo, provare ad andare in "Pannello di controllo\Strumenti di amministrazione\Servizi" e ad interrompere e disabilitare il servizio "Creative Audio Service" e successivamente a reimpostare l'audio multicanale;
• Qualora si decida di far uso di driver beta, ricordarsi che essi vanno installati sovrascrivendo la versione precedente e non ad installazione pulita, salvo indicazione contraria;
• Le configurazioni surround 6.1 non sono supportate in nessun modo su Windows Vista e dalle versioni successive di Windows;

no, in quanto il chipset è diverso (è lo stesso delle Xtreme music per intenderci)

devi scaricare quelli per "Sound Blaster X-Fi Xtreme Audio, Audigy Value/SE/LS & Live! 24-bit Series"

Il crystalizer per audigy quindi non funziona..


CMQ piccolo aggiornamento: pare che l'autore dei driver sia proprio ritirato dalla scena.. percui non vedremo mai, mi sa, un agigornamento di tali driver.. io li tengo uppati sul mio spazio filefront fino a che creative non rimedierà alle sue inefficenze (il che potrebbero metterci anni xD)

ok, fate finta di nn avere letto: testati su vista 64 sp1, audigy2 value: fanno letteralmente CAGARE: mezzora per installarsi per poi darmi solo il 2.1, qualità di riproduzione pessima, cracking audio, no cmss3d... meglio rimettere i driver di dk

pare che i nuovi driver siano affetti da un problema relativo a cthelper.exe, su vari forum suggeriscono di killare brutalmente l'applicazione e di eliminarla dal registro di avvio.. ora riprovo i nuovi driver disabilitando tale processo

il problema delle configurazioni superiori a 2.1 sembra risolto disattivando CThelper, tuttavia ci si accorge subito di altri problemi come volume incredibilmente basso a random nonostante si dia pieno volume via software.. il cmss3d funziona solo parzialmente: è presente solo il tipo1.. ergo: meglio i driver moddati se rincorrete in tali problemi...

Speriamo che alla Creative continuino a lavorare, altrimenti se è solo un bagliore per cercare di calmare gli animi mi sa che proprio non hanno ancora capito nulla..


PS: alcuni utenti sembrano avere problemi di eco-distorsione con i giochi Source (per ora solo CounterStrike: Source). Se riscontrate tali problemi e non riuscite a rimediare con le impostazioni di durata e buffer, tornate alla versione precedente oppure non attivate Alchemy per quel tedeterminato gioco.
